More relief is available for those who received New York City fines during the pandemic. For the next three months, the city’s Fine and Interest Reduction Enabling Recovery (FAIRER) program, which began September 20, 2021 and ends December 20, 2021, will allow individuals and businesses to apply for a discount of up to 75% on outstanding Environmental Control Board (ECB) fines issued by city agencies including the sanitation, fire and buildings departments.
